The AP German Language and Culture course emphasizes communication (understanding and being understood by others) by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. The AP German Language and Culture course strives not to overemphasize grammatical accuracy at the expense of communication. To best facilitate the study of language and culture, the course is taught almost exclusively in German.

The AP German Language and Culture course engages students in an exploration of culture in both contemporary and historical contexts. The course develops students’ awareness and appreciation of cultural products (e.g., tools, books, music, laws, conventions, institutions); practices (patterns of social interactions within a culture); and perspectives (values, attitudes, and assumptions).

The AP Spanish Language and Culture course emphasizes communication (understanding and being understood by others) by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills in real-life situations. The AP Spanish Language and Culture course strives not to overemphasize grammatical accuracy at the expense of communication. The AP Spanish Language and Culture course engages students in an exploration of culture in both contemporary and historical contexts. The course develops students’ awareness and appreciation

The SAT is a standardized admissions test used by many colleges and universities to assess a potential student's academic strengths and readiness for college. These test scores are used during the admissions process along with high school grades, class rank, community service, recommendations, and extracurricular activities.


Since 2016, the new SAT test is made up of three compulsory sections of reading, writing and mathematics, with an optional essay. The full score for the new SAT is 1600. SAT scores are valid for 2 years.

ACT stands for American College Testing. It is the most accepted college entrance exam taken in the US. The ACT score is accepted by all colleges and universities. The test covers all knowledge and skills students gain from their high school studies. The ACT score is an important indication to the university of students' academic abilities.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a worldwide popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. The IELTS score is accepted by over 10,000 organizations worldwide, including schools, universities, employers, immigration authorities, and professional organizations.

The TOEFL test, held and organized by ETS, is the most widely and respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more then 10,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries including Australia, Canada, the U.K., and the United States.
